Emirates Schools Karting Championship: Junior RD4

Dubai, UAE, 11 March: Going into the final Junior division round of the Emirates Schools Karting Championship (ESKC) on Monday night at Dubai Kartdrome, GEMS Wellington Academy Silicon Oasis (GEMS WSO) and Dragsters DXB controlled their respective championship categories, but both teams were to fall prey to the runner-up teams, GEMS International School (GIS) Team 1 and NAS Nomad.

Nathan Pope, Saeed Al Zarooni and Sultan Kurdali of GIS Team 1 needed to make up a deficit of two championship points in the ESKC category going into the last round, and the team delivered by winning Round Four, racking up 159 championship points and walking away with the 2018-2019 ESKC Junior Challenge title, topping GEMS WSO (155 points) by four points.

In the Nomad category, Taevan Stecyk and Lewis England of NAS Nomad overturned a four-point gap from Round Three to storm back and nab a class win in the final round, collecting 162 championship points and seizing the 2018-2019 ESKC Junior Nomad Cup over Dragsters DXB (158 points) by four points.
